In addition, we have learned that the person beaten was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

It appears he attempted to defend a shop with a large sword
Looters ran at him, then he charged rioters
They then beat him with a skateboard and stoned him with medium sized rocks

Dallas police have reportedly lost control of the city, and armed militia are on the way to defend businesses and good citizens. More on that in a later article.

Based on the video, it’s likely that this man’s injuries are fatal.
Reports state that while the man was down, bleeding on the floor, rioters continued looting and paying him no attention.
