Man Fires Gun Into Air During Road Rage Incident In South Carolina

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA — A road rage altercation in West Ashley led to a firearm discharge, triggering an investigation by local law enforcement. The incident took place at Ashley River Road and Paul Cantrell Boulevard, when a driver confronted another motorist for dangerous driving.

In response, the second driver allegedly fired his gun before fleeing. Authorities searched the area for the suspect’s vehicle, described as a potential BMW with after-market rims, but without success. No arrests have been made so far.

This incident underlines the importance of avoiding conflict, especially on the road, resorting to de-escalation instead, and using firearms only as a last resort only when life is threatened.
