Will Smith Can Commit Assault And Still Win An Award And Give A Speech 10 Minutes Later

Published

I didn’t watch the Oscar’s tonight, just like every year, but I couldn’t help but get caught up in the Will Smith and Chris Rock incident, which was ugly at best.

If you haven’t seen it, give it a watch and continue below:

At first I thought it was staged, but the first time I watched it I was watching the censored version. Then I found the beauty above and heard the back and forth between the two actors/comedians.

Now if this happened in real life, which this confirms that Hollywood isn’t, Will Smith would have at least been escorted out of the building. But instead, he goes back to his seat and the show carries on.

Not only that, he goes on to win an award a few minutes later and gives a lengthy speech about love and blah blah blah, with no apology to Chris Rock for slapping him in the face on live television.

I know that this is entirely different from someone walking up to you on the street and throwing a punch or slap, but it’s simply mind-blowing to me how nothing happened to Will Smith afterwards.

If this were a real-world street encounter, pepper spray would be your friend. A firearm, not so much, as this would not constitute a deadly threat or a threat that would likely create serious bodily harm. Just throwing that in, you know, because we’re a concealed carry website.

It’s a wild world, and another loser has taken center stage.
