NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT — A man is dead after being shot by a concealed carrier who was about to become a victim. This bizarre story shows us just how crazy people can be, and how random violent acts can find us while simply walking down the street.
A portion of Sperry St in #NewHaven, right near Goffe St, remains closed after two men were stabbed. One of the victims shot and killed the suspect. The details coming up this morning on @WTNH pic.twitter.com/L38koNPWdV

Local media reports;
Police say a 27-year-old man was walking along Sperry Street toward Goffe Street when he was confronted by a man holding a knife. That man reportedly said “Happy Halloween” and then stabbed the victim.
The victim’s cousin, a 24-year-old from Hamden, was waiting in his car. We’re told he heard the commotion, got out of his car and was also stabbed.
The 24-year-old then took out his gun and shot the assailant in the chest, killing him.
The man who shot the assailant has his concealed carry permit.
Both men who were stabbed are expected to be alright, and much of that credit is due to this armed citizen who refused to be a victim, and made the decision one day to carry a firearm to protect himself and others.
It doesn’t matter if things like this happen often or very infrequently. The fact is that violence can find us at any point, and we need to do what we can to be prepared for the people out there who look to do us harm.
