PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA — A robber was shot twice after he attempted to rob a pizza delivery driver in the north part of Philadelphia. It all went down at 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday. The pizza delivery driver is fine but the robber is going to need some serious medical help.
According to ABC 6 Action News, police recovered the suspect and transported him to a nearby medical center where he was reportedly in stable condition. After he gets out, he’ll be charged with armed robbery.
It’s an all too common tactic we’ve seen played out in the past. A bad guy orders pizza to an address and the delivery driver arrives and gets held-up. The bad guy (or guys) walk away with free pizza and sometimes several hundred dollars in cash.
Well, the script got flipped.
Here’s a memo for any would-be bad guys thinking about trying this trick: pizza delivery drivers don’t appreciate having their lives put at risk so you can get their hard-earned tip money.
If you’re not willing to die for that two hundred dollars in ones and a free pepperoni pizza, this isn’t a good investment of your time.
But, sadly, bad guys don’t really read this site too much. It’s mostly law-abiding, responsible gun owners looking for ways and advice on how to prepare themselves for dealing with bad guys.
Lo and behold, being armed everyday, everywhere you go actually does come in handy. Bad guys don’t care if you live or die over pocket change. But you do. You have a family and a home to go back to. Heck, even if you didn’t, that’s still no reason to roll over and hope some thug takes it easy on you.
No, I think fighting back is a pretty good method of deterring would-be bad guys from attempting the same thing again. It’s a little lesson broadcast out there for the whole world to see. Going to put a gun in some stranger’s face? Don’t be surprised when that stranger fights back.
Lawful, responsible everyday carry. It’s just one more thing keeping us from being victims and it’s why we keep promoting it every chance we get.
