Woman Uses Concealed Handgun To Fend Off Attacker In Her Garage

CALHOUN COUNTY, MICHIGAN — Authorities are seeking public assistance after a woman was assaulted in her garage around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday on 11 1/2 Mile Road. The woman recounted that as she retrieved items from her car, an unidentified man pushed her from behind, causing her to hit her head on the vehicle.

Her display of a concealed handgun reportedly deterred the attacker, who fled the scene.

Described as possibly in his early to mid-30s with sandy hair, wearing a dark flannel shirt and possibly muck boots, the suspect remains at large. Despite sending a K9 unit, deputies have been unsuccessful in locating him. Residents in the vicinity are urged to review footage from security and trail cameras for any leads.

Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office at 269-781-0880 or Silent Observer at 269-781-9700.
