3 Dead, 8 Injured In Fort Worth After 4th Of July Celebration, Suspects Unknown

FORT WORTH, TEXAS — A shooting incident took place in west Fort Worth on Monday night, shortly before midnight, during a post-Independence Day celebration named ComoFest. Three people were reported dead and eight injured, while the suspects remain at large.

The crime scene, located at Horne Street and Diaz Avenue, was bustling with activity, making immediate access challenging for law enforcement, as shared by Captain Shawn Murray of the Fort Worth Police Department. Casualties were transported to the hospital via ambulance or private vehicles, including a juvenile among the eleven victims.

Captain Murray stated the possibility of a domestic or gang-related situation, but affirmed that the homicide team would determine the details. Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker expressed profound sadness over the incident and sympathized with the victims and the entire Como community.

Officials have called upon anyone with relevant videos to come forward and assist the investigation.
