COLUMBUS, OHIO — Columbus police have identified Christopher Campos-Hernandez, 29, as the suspect responsible for the murder of Jacob Stratton, 24, and the assault of an unidentified woman on the city’s west side.

Officers responded to a reported burglary on Belmore Drive early Monday morning, where they discovered Campos-Hernandez in a physical altercation with Stratton and the female victim, according to WBNS.

Campos-Hernandez was detained and transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained before law enforcement’s arrival.

Stratton was pronounced dead at Doctors Hospital, while the female victim was treated for her injuries and released. The cause of Stratton’s death remains undisclosed.

A search warrant executed at the suspect’s residence led to the discovery of a third victim, Jesus Campos-Hernandez, 25, who was pronounced dead later that morning.
Authorities have not yet revealed the circumstances of his death or filed charges in connection with it.
