Man Armed With Knife Is Shot And Killed By Homeowner During Attempted Invasion

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — A man was shot and killed late Friday after he attempted to stab a man outside his Lincoln Heights home, a neighborhood in Los Angeles. Police responded to a home invasion and “shots fired” call in the area of E Avenue 28 at approximately 9:40 pm.

KLTA was advised by authorities that the suspect approached the homeowner in his yard where he charged at the homeowner with a knife. The homeowner fired on the suspect who then fled the location. Police said that the suspect was found dead after fleeing approximately a quarter of a mile.

Neither the homeowner, nor other family members, who were present inside the home, were injured in the altercation. There is no information at this time as to the relationship between the homeowner and the suspect and whether or not the incident was in self-defense. A large crime scene extended several city blocks well into Saturday morning. The investigation outcome is still pending.
