1 Dead, 2 Injured In Barbershop Shooting In Albany NY

ALBANY, NEW YORK — A shooting incident occurred in Albany on Saturday afternoon, as a gunman opened fire into a barbershop in the South End area. Albany police reported that three individuals were struck by gunfire, resulting in one fatality.

Emergency medical personnel treated a 47-year-old man at the scene, who had sustained gunshot wounds to his torso and shoulder. He was then transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Two other victims, a 19-year-old man shot in the foot and a 9-year-old boy grazed in the torso, received medical treatment at Albany Med for non-life-threatening injuries. The police have not released the names of the victims.

The incident took place at approximately 2:45 p.m., and initial investigations indicate that the suspect fired rounds from outside the barbershop, striking the three individuals inside. Further details regarding the suspect’s location, the weapon used, the number of rounds fired, and the motive behind the shooting are not currently available.
