Drug Transaction Turns Into Shootout In The Middle Of Kroger Parking Lot

Published

SANDY SPRINGS, GEORGIA — Police say a drug transaction of a “large amount of marijuana” took a bad turn when shots rang out in the middle of a grocery store parking lot.

The investigation revealed that the two people involved knew each other and all met in the parking lot of the shopping center to carry out a drug transaction involving a large amount of marijuana, police say.

Investigators reported that during the drug transaction, shots were fired and both victims were struck.

Two people were shot. One died at the scene and the other was taken to the hospital for surgery and is in stable condition.

It is unclear if other people were involved, or if the transaction was just between the two men.

From a legally armed citizen standpoint, we’re obviously not concerned about drug transactions going wrong because, well, we’re legally armed citizens. However, we are concerned with bad things happening around us that we may have a hard time getting away from.

Of course, the best thing to do if you’re in that parking lot is to get to a safe place and call police, and being mindful of what’s going on around you.
