A Casualty Of VIOLENCE, Not Concealed Carry: Pair Of Robbers Pick Wrong People To Rob, One From Each Side Dies

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Two men in their twenties got off the trolley and were headed down the street when they were approached by two other men who announced that they were there to rob them. One of the intended victims was carrying a firearm, which he had a permit to carry, and shot both robbers.

“Unbeknownst to the robbers, the 27-year-old victim has a permit to carry…has his handgun with him,” Police Lieutenant John Walker says. “He’s able to draw his handgun, firing multiple times, striking both robbery suspects.”

One of the robbers then returned fire and shot the friend of the armed robbery victim.

The friend of the armed robbery victim died from his injuries, as well as one of the robbers. The armed ‘victim’ was not injured, and the other robber who was shot is still in the hospital recovering from his injuries.

Many will look at this story and blame concealed carry. Their logic will be, “Had the armed victim not fired on the suspects, everyone would have went home.” After running Concealed Nation for over two years now, I am all too familiar with the bad guys shooting the good guys just for the fun of it. There is no rhyme or reason to their violent behavior, and people carry to protect themselves and others. This young man carried his firearm for instances just like this, and yes it’s an absolute shame that his friend was killed by one of the two thugs.

But to blame his friend? Absolutely not. Blame violence, and blame the bad guy. It’s the only logical place that the blame belongs. These two criminals forced these two men into a dangerous situation, and one of them acted accordingly.

The injured robber who escaped with his life will likely face two counts of murder as well as any robbery charges. I can only hope that he never sees the light of day again.

Based on reports, it seems that the armed citizen did everything by the book, even though his friend did not make it. I cannot fathom how this young man is feeling right now, but in case he reads this, I want him to know that I would have done the exact same thing.
