*GRAPHIC WARNING* Always Wear Eye Protection When Shooting

Published

Eye and ear protection are two essentials when shooting, as we only get one set of eyes and value our hearing as well. First to be noted: we can’t say for sure if this shooter was or wasn’t wearing eye protection. It is possible that he was, and what happened was able to go under the eye protection.

Full and proper eye protection, not just your prescription glasses, should truly cover your eyes and extend well past them to negate anything coming their way.

If you speak Turkish, the man in the video above explains what happened. In a nutshell, the shooter had a squib load and didn’t realize it. Upon firing another shot, bad things happened. The Striker assembly shot backwards out of the gun after the back plate failed to stay in position, landing embedded in the man’s face.

Here is a photo of the man at the hospital, as well as the firearm and its damage.

We tried finding an update on the condition of this man, but haven’t found the information yet. Hopefully his eye was able to be saved.

Always wear proper eye protection.
