POLK COUNTY, GEORGIA — Jesse Castillo has been acquitted of all charges relating to a shooting that took place in February 2021, according to The Polk County Standard Journal.
He was accused of killing Michael Griffith in Rockmart and had been in custody for two years.
The Polk County jury found him innocent of all charges after a four-day trial and he was released to rejoin his family. His attorney, J.J. Seifert, said “Justice was served.”
The jury found that Castillo acted in self-defense.
I can’t imagine the pain of losing two years of freedom for a crime one didn’t commit.
