The gunman was found in a home deceased, and an additional firearm was found, leading police to believe that the gunman may have had further plans. The gunman was identified as a 41-year-old white male.

UPDATE @ 08:29PM EST: News outlets are reporting that the gunman drove up to the park, exited his vehicle, and began firing a 9mm Glock handgun. Witnesses reported hearing numerous shots as the gunman reloaded his firearm twice, leaving three empty magazines scattered around the scene. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard confirmed the recovery of the handgun and magazines by the authorities.

The suspect did not remain at the water park. Instead, he fled to a nearby residential area, where he was contained in a home approximately half a mile away from the park. Law enforcement swiftly secured the perimeter around the residence. A SWAT team was assembled to handle the potentially volatile situation, ensuring the safety of the surrounding community.
