CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — In the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago, a concealed carry license holder defended his apartment by shooting an intruder early Monday morning. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on South Jeffery Boulevard when a 30-year-old man broke into the residence.
The apartment’s 29-year-old occupant, legally armed, shot the intruder in the leg. Police apprehended the assailant and transported him to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was reported to be in fair condition.
Authorities suggest the shooting may have stemmed from a domestic issue. Chicago’s Area One detectives are currently investigating the case.
