COBB COUNTY, GEORGIA — In an early morning incident at the Quality Inn on Cobb Place Blvd NW in Kennesaw, Cobb County Police were dispatched to a report of a shooting. An employee was wounded in the hotel lobby and is currently hospitalized in stable condition. The employee, who has not been publicly identified, managed to call 911 despite suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

A hotel guest, Wilton Gordon, expressed shock at the violence against a hotel worker. The authorities have since detained a suspect, who was also staying at the hotel. The arrest followed a tip from a witness who noticed the suspect acting suspiciously and entering a hotel room shortly after the incident.

The suspect’s identity remains undisclosed as the investigation continues. Meanwhile, Lacey Duhon, a resident at the hotel for nearly two years, voiced her longstanding concerns about safety to reporters, highlighting that she has never felt secure at the establishment. The incident has underscored her anxiety, reinforcing the precaution of always keeping her doors locked.
