Armed Citizen Shoots Back At Man Who Opened Fire Outside North Carolina Grocery Store

WAKE FOREST, NORTH CAROLINA — A 35-year-old man, Mirza Zukanovic, was taken into custody following an incident in which he allegedly fired at individuals in a Lowes Foods parking lot in Wake Forest Crossing, located at 12524 Capital Blvd. The incident, which took place at around 9 p.m. on Saturday, reportedly stemmed from a domestic disagreement.

After the alleged shooting, Zukanovic attempted to escape, prompting an armed witness with a concealed carry permit to fire shots at him. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or property damage.

Later, Zukanovic encountered another setback when his car crashed on Stadium Drive. Law enforcement has charged him on multiple counts, including two for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, firing a weapon within city limits, impaired driving, and several other traffic-related offenses. He is currently being held without bond at the Wake County Detention Center.
