Home Invasion Suspect Shot By Armed Citizen

CHANA, ILLINOIS — Early Sunday morning, a suspect in a home invasion was shot by a resident in Chana, according to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office.

Police arrived at the home in the 9000 block of E. Fowler Road and found the offender shot in the lower abdomen, according to WTVO.

The man was airlifted to Saint Anthony’s in Rockford, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition. Authorities stated that charges may be filed as the incident is still being investigated.
