Police: Man With AR-15 And “Plenty Of Ammunition” Shot By Police In A Target

OMAHA, NEBRASKA — A man who was carrying an AR-15 and ammunition was shot dead at a Target in Omaha, Nebraska, according to police.

Police were called by people reporting an active shooter inside the store, according to NBC News.

They responded, and the suspect was killed.

“The first arriving officers went into the building, confronted the suspect and shot him dead,” said Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer according to NBC News.

“He had an AR-15 rifle with him and plenty of ammunition,” Schmaderer said.

While there are reports that his gun was fired inside the store — there were reportedly shell casings found — no one except for the suspect appears to have been hurt.
