Alleged Home Invader Shot By Homeowner, Left Outside For Police To Haul Off

FORT WAYNE, INDIANA — A man shot an alleged home invader late last month, preventing the possible home invasion and giving law enforcement time to respond to the emergency.

According to WANE, police came to the Fort Wayne, Indiana, home after a resident informed dispatch that he had shot someone that he believed was attempting to break into his home.

They arrived at approximately 7:00 a.m., and there was in fact a man with a gunshot wound at the doorway of the home.

Responders gave the man aid and then took him to the hospital. He sustained non life-threatening injuries.

Charges were still being assessed at the time of WANE’s report.
