HOUSTON, TEXAS — Police say an armed robber is dead after his intended target drew a handgun and fired. The armed citizen was just leaving an ATM around 10:30 p.m. when he was approached by the armed robber.
When the armed citizen drew his gun, both men fired around the same time. The robber was struck once and died at the scene.
The armed citizen remained at the scene and was cooperating with police.
When the need to use an ATM arises, try your best to do so during the day, and use an ATM that is in a place with a good amount of foot traffic. If you must use one at night or one in a questionable location, be sure to maintain your awareness of people and things around you.
