GRAPHIC WARNING: Woman Sexually Assaulted By Man While Walking Down NYC Street

Published

Police are still searching for a suspect, pictured above, in a broad daylight sexual assault of a woman as she was walking down the street. The suspect is seen approaching the woman from behind and when he sees an opportunity, he runs up behind her and tackles her to the ground.

News reports say the suspect then forced his hand down her pants and sexually assaulted her as he had her pinned down. The woman can then be seen taking her phone and smashing him in the head with it, causing him to stop his assault and run off.

In New York City, it’s impossible for an average citizen to obtain a permit to carry, and restrictions on things like knives are also a thing. Regardless of where you’re located, there are options for self-defense. If it’s not an actual tool on your body, knowing how to fight and get out of a hold can be the difference between being a victim and successfully defending against your attacker, before they’re able to do what they’re trying to do.

Anyone with information about the attacker is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). You can also submit a tip via their website or on Twitter, @NYPDTips. All calls are kept confidential.
