NORTH PORT, FLORIDA — Personal items belonging to fugitive Brian Laundrie have reportedly been found after Laundrie’s parents and law enforcement searched an area in Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park Wednesday morning. The details of the items found were not disclosed, but the Laundries left shortly after the discovery.
Shortly after, police requested the help of the Sarasota County Medical Examiner’s Office, who confirmed that they were called to the park for assistance.
In the video below, obtained exclusively by Fox News, the Laundries can be seen speaking with an officer, apparently about an item that was found.
The couple searched the area for a while before returning home around 8:45 a.m.

The park was again closed to the public, having only reopened on Tuesday following an extensive search.
Laundrie is wanted by the FBI for charges related to the unauthorized use of a debit card belonging to his girlfriend, Gabby Petito, who was found dead last month in a park in Wyoming. Laundrie and Petito were on a cross-country trip when Laundrie unexpectedly returned to Florida with Petito’s van, by himself. He is considered a person of interest in the disappearance and homicide of Petito but has not been officially named a suspect.
