Man Shot And Killed After Breaking Into Home And Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend

Published

MOUNT HEALTHY, OHIO — A man is dead after police say he broke into a home that his ex-girlfriend was in and began to assault her. The attack didn’t last long, however, because someone else was there to stop him in his tracks.

Officials said Gregory Lyle, 33, entered through the window of the home and assaulted his ex-girlfriend who was inside.

A man living in the house saw Lyle and shot him. Lyle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident happened around 2:30 in the morning, a reminder of what can happen in the middle of the night.

There was no word on whether or not charges will be brought against the man who shot Lyle, but I’d guess that it’s very unlikely. Not only did he assault a person; he also broke into a home. Not good choices, and in the majority of states, deadly force is justified.
