Home Invasion Ends With One Suspect Fatally Shooting The Other While Fleeing

WILKINSBORO, PENNSYLVANIA – Two armed men entered a home Monday evening – now one is dead, and police are seeking the other for his death.

Around 10:48 p.m. Wilkinsboro Police were called to a reported home invasion in progress in the 1600 block of Penn Avenue. When they arrived, they found five occupants who appeared to be uninjured, and the two suspects had fled the scene.  During a search of the area, officers discovered the body of a 29-year-old man who was wearing a ski mask on Superior Street near Penn Avenue.

According to investigators, two armed men allegedly stopped a female occupant of the home outside at gunpoint and forced their way into the residence. There were four other occupants, and two of the male residents confronted the intruders. One of the suspects began firing a gun as he fled out the front door, while his accomplice fled out the back door. The occupants did not return gunfire leading detectives to believe that the 29-year-old suspect was fatally shot by the other.

Police did not release the identities of anyone involved. The suspect remains at large and the investigation is continuing.
