Woman Arrested After Shooting And Killing Boyfriend During Domestic Dispute

KEARNS, UTAH — A 21-year-old man, Dominique Vigil, was fatally shot in Kearns following an alleged domestic dispute. The incident took place in the early hours of Friday. Officers reported to a shots fired call at approximately 1:15 a.m. to find Vigil deceased despite attempts at life-saving efforts.

Police say the dispute involved his girlfriend, Sandra Perez, and occurred in their residence. Perez allegedly fled the scene after the shooting, threatening Vigil’s mother with a firearm.

The suspect was later apprehended in West Valley City without incident, following a neighbourhood search involving multiple police departments and K-9 units.

The police emphasised that domestic violence impacts both genders and help is available.

The scene remains under investigation.
