Yet Another Hammer vs. Gun Incident – Guess Who Lost

PEARLAND, TEXAS – A home invasion by a man swinging a hammer ended badly for him when one of the occupants shot him in self-defense. Police were called to a home in the 2200 block of North Houston Avenue around 10:30 p.m.  On arrival they found three people with injuries.

According to police, the suspect forced his way into the rear of the home and attacked the residents with a hammer. One of the residents then stopped the attack by shooting the assailant multiple times. The two residents and the suspect were transported to a hospital for treatment, but information on their conditions was not available.

About 30 minutes later, around 11:00 p.m. and not too far away, Harris County Sheriff ‘s deputies were called to a shooting at the Palace Inn Hotel in the 11700 block of Veterans Memorial near Milroy Lane.  There, a hotel guest came out to find a suspect breaking into a vehicle.  A verbal confrontation escalated and ended when one of the men shot the other.  No names or further details have been released.
