Son Saves Himself And Mother, Shooting And Killing Home Intruder In Washington

ELK PLAIN, WASHINGTON — A son, who resides at a home with his elderly mother, woke up in the middle of the night to some noises coming from inside the house. When he went to investigate, he brought his handgun along for the journey.

During his investigation, the son found a man next to a safe inside the home. Police say that when he confronted the suspect, the suspect went after him. That’s when the son fired the gun, striking the suspect.

When police arrived, they found the man dead from a gunshot wound, as well as what appeared to be the entry point into the home by the suspect.

The deceased suspect has not been identified, and charges are not expected against the son.

If you enter someone’s home, you enter dangerous territory. If a person is inside, armed, in most cases they have every right to defend themselves with lethal force.

With that, do you have a home defense strategy? Is your firearm easily accessible? Do others who live with you know the plan?
