Surveillance footage captured the harrowing moments leading up to the attack. Dixon is seen entering the gas station before heading to the restroom, with Roary trailing behind her. In a chilling turn of events, Roary is then seen returning to his truck to retrieve a hammer. Moments later, he follows Dixon into the women’s bathroom, where the attack occurred.
A 911 call was made at approximately 11:15 p.m. by a witness inside the restroom who heard the commotion. The witness, upon exiting her stall, discovered Dixon lying on the floor, bleeding heavily from the head. Emergency medical services arrived promptly, but Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Roary, who has a history of violent crime, was quickly identified and apprehended by authorities. He has since been charged with murder. This is not Roary’s first encounter with the law; in 1989, at the age of 18, he was convicted of second-degree murder and served time before his release in 1995.
