One Person Shot In FL During Altercation, Man Claims Self-Defense

CRESTVIEW, FLORIDA — An altercation between two men in the early morning of Tuesday, November 8th led to an alleged self-defense shooting of one of the involved men.

The incident took place in the area of 2nd Avenue and Dixie Street in Crestview around 4:20 am. Crestview Police state that one of the men involved in the altercation called them stating he had shot the other man in self-defense.

Police arrived to find both men, one with a gunshot wound to the hand. The injured man was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. The man’s injury was believed to be non-life threatening.

A press release by Crestview Police stated that the investigation is still active and ongoing.
