Man Gets Into Car Accident, Walks Up To Nearby Home And Begins Attacking Homeowners, One Of Which Is Armed

PICKERINGTON, OHIO — A one-car accident in rural Ohio led to the driver being shot by a nearby homeowner who he began to attack. Police were called about the accident and found that the driver had run away, only to return a short time later.

Police say the driver went up to a man and a woman who were standing outside their home and began attacking the man. The woman, a concealed carry permit holder, pulled out her gun and told the driver to stop, but he then turned his attention to her.

Deputies say the woman told him to stop several more times, then fired five rounds at the suspect. He was shot at least three times, according to officials, and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Nearby neighbors and responding police gave first aid to the suspect until the ambulance arrived.

This is a great example of why we regularly discuss carrying your firearm at home, because there is no better way to have immediate access if you need it. The last thing you want to do in a situation like this is to run somewhere to get your firearm. Instead, a quick draw is all you need.
