FBI Report Shows That Concealed Carry Is Effective Against Active Shooters

Recently, the FBI released it’s “Active Shooter Incidents in the United States in 2016 and 2017” report, and it “indicates 16 percent of crimes that qualify for inclusion in the paper were stopped by a law-abiding citizen with a gun.”

Of the 50 active shooter instances in 2016 and 2017, 10 of them were stopped by citizens in various ways.

Page 5 of the report gives us the following information:

Of these 10 citizen engagements, 6 of them included armed citizens with valid firearms permits.

In the report’s conclusion, it mentions that armed and unarmed citizens were able to effectively put a stop to 8 of the mass shootings, and they praised the bravery and response from these individuals.

Armed and unarmed citizens engaged the shooter in 10 incidents. They safely and successfully ended the shootings in eight of those incidents. Their selfless actions likely saved many lives.

If we had more armed citizens around –and the number is growing every single day– then we would statistically see an increase in armed citizens stopping these mass gunmen before they are able to do as much damage as they have planned.

There are more answers to stop these people from committing these acts to begin with, but having more armed and responsible citizens in our Country is not a bad idea. At all.
