LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — Hundreds of concert goers were injured and over 50 Killed in what is being called the worst mass shooting in US history. The incident unfolded late Sunday night at a country music festival being held in front of Mandalay Bay, and the gunman is said to have been shooting from a room inside the Mandalay Bay.
From latimes.com;
“Right now we believe it’s a solo act, a lone wolf attacker,” Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sheriff Joe Lombardo said. “We are pretty confident there is no longer a threat.”
The gunman was shooting from the 32nd floor of the hotel, targeting people attending a Jason Aldean concert across the street. The singer was reported as uninjured during the incident.
Officers entered the room and engaged the suspect. “He is dead, currently,” Lombardo said, adding that authorities have no evidence of a motive. “We don’t know what his belief system was at this time.”
The suspect was identified as a 64-year-old man from Mesquite, Nevada. As per Concealed Nation policy, we will not be identifying the gunman by name, nor posting his picture. This man doesn’t deserve the publicity.
From the multiple videos posted online of the gunfire, it sounds like an automatic rifle was used. There is a long pause of silence after the initial burst of gunfire, and then the gunman starts again for an undetermined amount of time.
Police have been keeping the public informed with press conferences, as well as updates on their Twitter page.
Police have yet to determine a motive behind the attack, but we have an idea: The guy was a terrorist. We’re not saying that he was affiliated with any terrorist organizations, but he’s now classified himself as a terrorist.
We will update this space when more information is available.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this senseless and cowardly act, and with all of Las Vegas.
