KENOSHA, WISCONSIN — While this story doesn’t have to do with firearms, it does have to do with a home invasion attempt. It also has something to do with a unique way to make sure the home invader doesn’t get away before police arrive.
The homeowner, Jerril Grover, was home in his basement when he heard a loud noise upstairs. When he goes upstairs, he is greeted by a man who was halfway inside his window.
Once the intruder was caught, he asked Grover what anyone breaking into a home would ask:
Do you want your lawn mowed?
That sad attempt at an excuse for being halfway in the window didn’t fly with Grover, and he acted quickly.
“For some reason, my adrenaline kicked into action right there, and I knocked him out of the window, and I took a vase and smashed him on the head,” Grover said.
Grover grabbed a nearby hose and hogtied the man. Police were in for a surprise when they arrived at the scene to find the suspect bound.
The 22-year-old intruder, identified as Philip Tabili Jr., is charged with burglary, theft and disorderly conduct.
“It all worked out in the end, and I hope the young man is getting some help,” Glover said.
I guess that’s one way to stop an unarmed home invader.
