Suspect in Brown University Shooting and MIT Professor Killing Found Dead

UPDATE @ 9:35PM EST: During a press conference, officials confirmed that a public tip helped break the case by providing a video of the vehicle. The suspect was identified as a 48 year old man, a Brown University student, a permanent resident of the US, and he ultimately committed suicide.

UPDATE @ 9:30PM EST: Fox News reports that the suspect was not a US citizen, but a legal permanent resident.

UPDATE @ 9:11PM EST: Upon searching a storage unit rented by the suspect, he was found dead inside after police swarmed the building for at least a few hours. A press conference is expected sometime this evening.

In a massive update on the Brown University shooting and the separate killing of an MIT Professor, police say the two incidents are connected and they have identified a suspect.

A building is currently surrounded in Salem, NH. Police linked a rental car to the suspect, and linked that rental car to both crime scenes; the Brown University Shooting and the MIT Professor shooting two days later.

A news conference is happening tonight, but the time is not yet determined. It was originally scheduled for 4pm EST.
