Social Meetup For Sale Of Items Turns Into Shootout, Concealed Carrier Defends Self

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA — Wednesday night, police converged on the 600 block of Peter Court following reports of gunfire. Around 8:17 p.m., officers arrived after being alerted to the incident. The reported intended victim claimed he had organized to sell items via social media.

During the meeting in a parking lot, two men confronted him. A confrontation ensued when one of the men brandished a firearm, prompting the intended victim to also draw his weapon, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. The assailants subsequently fled. The crossfire resulted in damage to a building and three vehicles, though no injuries have been reported.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
