HALL COUNTY, GA — An enraged father shot and killed his daughter’s boyfriend after he shot her with a shotgun, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The daughter’s boyfriend, 25-year-old Thomas McNulty, had recently been fired from his job for bringing a handgun to work, which was against company policy.
Tension seems to have been high when McNulty made the mistake that would cost him his life.
As The Atlanta Journal-Constution reports:
About 4:30 a.m. Sunday, investigators responded to a home in the 3400 block of Jet-Wright Road in Hall County, where a woman had a shotgun wound to her back, sheriff’s Lt. Scott Ware said.
Thomas McNulty, 25, shot Jessica Rusk after a fight at the home, Ware said. Immediately afterward, her father, Floyd Rusk, shot and killed McNutly, Ware said… The 22-year-old woman shot by McNulty was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where she remains in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery, according to the sheriff’s office.
Charges won’t be filed for this shooting.
One neighbor told media that she was concerned that the shooting was going to haunt the father, and although it very well may, there has rarely ever been such a blatantly clear-cut instance in which it is darn well near-mandatory to open fire.
I’d do the same thing every single time, every single day.
Thank goodness the woman wasn’t permanently injured.
