Mom At Home With 2 Kids, Shoots And Kills Early Morning Intruder With Her Concealed Handgun

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA — Early Sunday morning at the Greenbrier Apartments, a woman fatally shot a man in what is being considered a case of self-defense, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies, who responded to the incident around 5 a.m., found that the woman had shot the man inside her apartment, where she lives with her two children.

The woman reported that she was alerted by loud banging at her door. When she approached, a man forcibly entered her home. In response, she grabbed her gun from her purse and demanded the intruder to identify himself. As he continued to advance towards her, she shot him, resulting in his death at the scene.

Immediately following the shooting, the woman contacted the authorities. After conducting an initial investigation and questioning at their headquarters, the woman was released. They concluded that her actions were in self-defense.

Fortunately, the woman’s children, who were present during the incident, were unharmed.
