NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANNA — Four armed men stormed into a family’s home on a quiet street on the morning of December 8th, but they didn’t know that the father inside would fight back and shoot all of them; two fatally.

Police say four armed intruders entered the home at the end of Palmer Drive around 10 a.m. and all four wound up being shot by the homeowner, leaving two of them are dead.

The St. Tammany Coroner’s office has identified the deceased as 25-year-old Renard Causey Jr. and 21-year-old Justin Hill, of Hammond. The homeowner’s four-year-old daughter was also apparently struck in the crossfire.

The daughter is expected to be ok after undergoing surgery for the bullet wound.

Luckily, no one else in the family was shot during the chaos.

It’s moments like this that remind us how quickly terror can enter our homes, and why having a firearm on our person while at home can mean the difference between life and death.

The two injured intruders are being charged with murder, among other charges for their roles in the home invasion.
