1 Shot When Gun Goes Off In Casino Parking Lot After Negligent Discharge

Early Saturday, in Des Plaines, an individual was inadvertently wounded by a firearm in the Rivers Casino parking garage. This incident occurred just before 1 a.m., when a patrolling officer was summoned for medical assistance.

The injured party, a male whose age was undisclosed, sustained a leg injury from the shooting and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Rivers Casino clarified that the incident involved a customer negligently discharging a firearm inside a car within the parking area, emphasizing that no firearms were brought into the casino itself.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the matter.
