TAMPA, FLORIDA — Police say 2 people are dead and 18 others injured as a result of a shooting that began after an argument between two groups of people. The incident, which occurred around 3 a.m. in Ybor City, was sparked by a clash between two groups as bars closed, according to Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw.

“Between these two groups, we had hundreds of innocent people involved that were in the way,” the chief said.

The shooting took place amidst a crowd of hundreds. The injured parties’ conditions remain undisclosed.

A male suspect has surrendered to the police, but authorities believe an additional shooter was involved.

Livestreamer DasGasDom captured the sounds of gunfire while on a live stream, showing the immediate chaos and panic caused by the shots as people began to flee.

Police have not confirmed the names or identities of those killed in the shooting.

Video posted to social media shows police attending to victims right after the incident. The Police Chief said that some 50 officers were in the area at the time.

This is a developing story.
