Shooting At White Sox Game Update: Woman Smuggled Gun In Between Her Belly Rolls

Published

During the White Sox-Athletics game at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago on Friday, two women were injured in a shooting. One of the women reportedly brought the firearm into the stadium using her belly rolls.

The victims, aged 42 and 26, are recovering; the elder woman was shot in the leg and the younger suffered a graze wound on her abdomen.

If the woman did have the firearm buried in some rolls, a traditional metal detector would have been set off and additional screening should have taken place. However, this particular stadium seems to utilize a new technology to replace traditional metal detectors called Evolv, which we’re working on an extensive article about, as this new system has been shown to miss items such as firearms and knives.
