Homeowner Holds Home Invader At Gunpoint Until Police Arrive

AMITE, LOUISIANNA — Two individuals, Mikhy Parnell and Larry Joe Myrick, were detained on Wednesday following an attempted home invasion in Amite. The incident occurred on Hwy. 1047, with the property owner becoming aware through his surveillance system.

While one intruder was held at gunpoint by the homeowner, the other ran into nearby woods. Various law enforcement units joined efforts to apprehend Parnell.

Currently, both Parnell and Myrick are in St. Helena Parish Jail, facing charges of simple burglary, criminal damage, and trespassing.
