1 Dead, 1 Injured In Shooting Outside Chicago Walgreens

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — A fatal shooting occurred on Chicago’s Southwest Side, near West 47th Street and South Western Avenue, on Monday afternoon, resulting in one death and another person injured.

The incident happened when an unidentified male, standing on the sidewalk, was shot from a car that pulled up next to him. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the shoulder and back and was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Another individual, unharmed by the gunfire but possibly hit by debris, was also hospitalized, their condition reported as good.

The Chicago Police Department hasn’t released further details, and Area One Detectives are currently investigating the incident.
