Burglar Duo Both Shot After Tasing Family Dog

MURFREESBORO, TENNESSEE — A Murfreesboro homeowner successfully defended his home and family against two apparent armed home invaders, killing one and wounding the other.

The incident occurred on January Street when two masked men broke into the home, tased the family dog, and held the homeowner’s teenage son at gunpoint, the police reported according to WZTV.

The homeowner managed to retrieve his firearm and open fire on the intruders, fatally shooting Kevin Ford, 52, and wounding Clifford Wright, 42.

Wright was later discovered at the Salvation Army and subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment before being jailed, according to WZTV.

The homeowner is not facing charges, while Wright is being held on a $700,000 bond.

He is charged with aggravated burglary, attempted aggravated robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during a violent felony.
