Armed Citizen Shoots 2 Of 3 Armed Men During Carjacking Attempt At Dallas Gas Station, Killing 1

DALLAS, TEXAS — A man was killed in a shooting during an attempted carjacking at a gas station in Oak Cliff, Dallas. The incident occurred at the Quick Trip on S. R. L. Thornton Freeway at Glen Oaks Crossing.

According to the police, three suspects approached a man with guns, and in an act of self-defense, the man shot two of the suspects. An eyewitness named William Hughes saw one of the suspects being forcefully put into a car, with his feet still hanging out.

The suspects fled the scene and later arrived at Methodist Charlton Hospital. One of the suspects succumbed to his injuries, while the others sustained non-life threatening injuries and are now in custody.

Local residents expressed that such incidents are not uncommon in the area, citing ongoing problems with violence. Anthony Walker, a resident, mentioned recent police helicopter activities in search of individuals.

The man who fired the shots drove to his residence and contacted police. The Dallas Police Department is currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the matter.
