SARASOTA, FLORIDA — The Sarasota Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying two suspects who assaulted a man in downtown Sarasota at around 1:50 a.m. on March 4 in the 1400-block of Main Street, according to WWSB.

The victim suffered severe injuries, including a brain bleed and multiple fractures.

It’s a short story, and we can only hope that the situation reaches a just outcome.

Far more importantly, it’s a strong reminder that we should, anytime we can, carry, especially in public.

It’s awful, but it’s the truth: The world isn’t a safe place. While there are some very good men and women that work to prevent tragedies like this, there is no faster or firmer respondent than a responsibility-armed citizen.
