JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA — Draper Younce was sitting in his Tesla, waiting to pick up a friend. His day changed in seconds when an armed man ran up to him and announced a robbery.

“He immediately said, ‘Get out of the car, get out of the car, I am taking your car’ … I saw my opportunity to escape, and I ducked to the right. I accelerated as hard as I could,” Younce said.
He credits his calmness during the ordeal to his 15 years in the Navy. He even honked the horn as he sped away, a feature which saves the recently recorded videos. He then handed over those videos to police.
Younce was lucky, however, being that he was missed by just inches after the armed thug fired a shot.
His awareness, quick thinking and decisive action saved his life that day, I have no doubt. Sometimes, the best thing to do is to GTFO as quickly as possible.
