Dollar General Manager Shoots Robbery Suspect In The Head

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA — A suspected armed robber is dead after he tried robbing a Dollar General store with a makeshift weapon, but probably didn’t count on one of the employees being armed.

The suspect walked into the store around 8:30 p.m. Thursday night and demanded that the cashier open the drawer and give him the money. The cashier signaled to the manager, who tried talking with the suspect during the encounter.

When the suspect displayed the weapon, that’s when the manager drew his gun and fired twice, hitting the suspect in the head.

The manager is legally licensed to carry a concealed firearm.
